“Of the three artists works, the pieces by Aden Warrington are perhaps the most confronting, at least to a general audience. Warrington combines taxidermy with found objects such animal bones, but also items such as glitter, ceramics and lace to create visceral, and challenging pieces. All animals used are found roadkill or animals who have died by natural causes and been donated by their owner to the artist. The most spectacular is a taxidermy cat, arms and legs outstretched and nailed on its stomach to the wall on top of an sheepskin rug surrounded by lace. The cat’s back is pinned with material flowers while its mouth and eye socket are filled by a single, large flowers.

Another sculpture “I Heart You, I Bone You” uses a charred calf femur on top of a polyester rug, decorated with glitter topped by a ceramic flower centrepiece. Committed to the human treatment of animals, Warrington’s work suggests love’s limitations as a an emotion bound to bodily desire.”

My First Art Exhibition!

This was my first official art show hopefully the first of many to come. It was located at 69 Smith street gallery and I exhibited with my fantastically talented friends Nina Mulhall and Michelle Dinkgreve.

Heres an overview ” Spanning across several mediums Aden Warrington, Michelle Dinkgrieve and Nina Mulhull, lay emphasis on the delusion that is sex, romance, love and identity.   Drawing attention to our emotional addictions, we discover that these ideals are nothing more than a physical lust for instant and regular gratification.

Aden Warrington uses taxidermy, bones, glitter and found objects to explore the façade of love.  Michelle Dinkgreves pastels and ink paintings highlight the vulnerability of teenage girls and Nina Mulhall juxtaposes images of tools and woman to highlight sexual exploitation.

The opening was fantastic with 250+ attendees witch let us poor of dips and wine. Thank you for coming guys!
